An extremely rare inscribed Chinese Canton famille rose trefoil tray, Qing, dated 1879

Ce lot a été vendu le 2025-10-15 et n'est plus disponible

Dim.: 27 x 26,3 cm

Likely intended as a tête-à-tête tea tray, this bears a central gold inscription: 'EMILY. CANTON. 1879.'. While a ship named Emily was clearly in Canton in 1879, efforts to identify her—among 23 ships and 6 British yachts of that name listed in Lloyd’s Register—have been inconclusive.
