Both candlesticks bear stamped marks on the gilt-silver mounts, between the Chinese famille rose porcelain and marble bases.
Boin-Taburet was a Paris-based silversmith's workshop founded in 1873 by Georges Boin and Émile Taburet. The firm became known for combining strong design with high-quality workmanship and quickly built an international reputation.
It received several awards at major exhibitions, including the Exposition Universelle in Paris in 1878 and 1889, and was noted for its fine silver and careful craftsmanship.
The firm also supplied European royalty and aristocracy, including Empress Eugénie, Queen Victoria, and King Alfonso XIII, which further strengthened its standing.
