Marked on the back 'DAPW' above a numeral two for the "De Paauw" workshop, Delft, late 17th C. A label on the back suggests that the dish has been designed or decorated by Dutch ceramic artist Claes J. Messchert, son-in-law to Dirck Hieronimus van Kessel, first owner of the 'De Paauw' workshop. Paon refers to the type of blue tin-glaze used.
