| H.: 29 cm Condition: Excellent. The pewter mount loose. A small hole in the base with a very old lead or pewter repair. Attributed to the "De Porceleyne Schotel" factory by Dutch expert J.D. Van Dam in "Vrienden van de Nederlandse Ceramiek 135". This type of jug is depicted on Dutch paintings situated in the same period. Famous Dutch painter Jan Steen showed it on two paintings: "Het Oestereetstertje" (see photo) and a version of "Het Doktersbezoek". A similar jug in poor condition was sold at Christie's, Amsterdam, Sale 2775, Lot 20.
