A rare Chinese gold- and silver-inlaid bronze 'Ding' censer with Taotie design on a hongmu stand, Shaosheng 紹聖 and Su Zhe 蘇轍 mark, Song or later

The underside of the censer is inlaid with a dated inscription: Dà sòng shào shèng'èr nián zhòng chūn rì yù yín piàn lú zhòng shí jīn shǔ zhōng chén sū zhé jiān zào 大宋紹聖二年仲春日禦銀片爐重十斤蜀中臣蘇轍監造 ('Imperial silver-inlaid bronze censer, dated to the second year of the Shaosheng reign of the Great Song dynasty (1095), second month of spring. Weight: ten jin. Supervised in Shu by the court official Su Zhe.').
